Chiropractor Cracks The Back Pain Code With New Spinal Decompression Technology

Monday, April 30th, 2012

Countless doctors, chiropractors, and patients wonder what it really takes to get rid of back and neck pain. Is it really all about having the special technique, utilizing the right equipment, or is it just a matter of good old fashioned “luck”? Sometimes it’s a combination of all of these. As you walk into the door of New Century Spine Centers in San Diego, you really just get a feeling that this is the place that exceeds expectations when it comes to getting rid of sciatica and back pain. It’s a story that is written all over the faces of happy patients coming out of the treatment rooms. But what is it that makes this office so different compared to countless other chiropractic offices in San Diego? As one patient states, “I don’t want to give away what makes Dr. Pritsker such a popular choice as a doctor, you really just have to experience it for yourself.”

When asked what makes his treatment so successful, Dr. Pritsker simply answers, “I always think about what it is that people want and need and I give it to them. I just do what works, not what just sounds good” And that he does. With thousands of back-pain victims taking pain medication for many years and some resorting to surgery, Dr. Pritsker was the first chiropractor in San Diego to revolutionize back pain treatment by introducing a new state-of-the-art painless therapy that has shown success in even those individuals with the worst kind of back pain, such as disc bulges, arthritis, disc degeneration, disc herniations, and more. With Dr. Mike Pritsker’s introduction of spinal decompression therapy to San Diego residents, it’s everything one might hope to experience when wanting to finally get rid of torturous back pain and restore a pain-free, active lifestyle.

When the spinal decompression technology was first introduced by Dr. Michael Pritsker in San Diego, the word spread like wildfire and soon there was a waiting list to receive this treatment. At about that time, Channel 10 News picked up the story and it was aired during the evening news hour. During this news special, news anchor Carole LeBeau had an opportunity to try the spinal decompression machine for herself and admitted “it feels nice…like the way your back should feel.” Since then, this treatment for back and neck pain has successfully treated thousands of patients.

Dr. Michael Pritsker continues to provide new and advanced treatment technology to San Diego residents and beyond for the relief of pain associated with arthritis, spinal degeneration, sciatica, headaches, neck pain, disc bulges, back pain and more. He tries to make the treatment affordable to everyone and also accepts most insurance plans such as Aetna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Kaiser, Optimum Health, and more. They offer various treatment options ranging from short term relief care to long term corrective care. The chiropractors of New Century Spine always put their patients first when it comes to healthcare.

In the past twelve years, Dr. Pritsker has treated thousands of patients suffering from back and neck pain and continues to stay ahead of other doctors by offering patients the most advanced non-invasive technology in the treatment of some of the worst cases of neck pain, leg pain, spinal stenosis, and back pain. More information can also be obtained by calling the toll free 24 hour recorded information hotline at 1-888-867-4951. With advances in back pain therapy, many people don’t have to live with pain any more.

Survey Says Chiropractic Outperforms Other Back Pain Treatment Options

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

Visit www.backcaretreatment.comIf you have back pain you are probably old enough to remember Richard Dawson first yelling the “Survey Says” phrase on the popular 70s and 80s game show, The Family Feud. If not then it doesn’t matter. You just learned something interesting about American pop culture and game show history. So what does the survey really say? According to an August 9, 2011 article on chiroeco.com, “In a new survey, chiropractic outperformed all other back pain treatments including prescription and over-the-counter medications, deep-tissue massage, yoga, and Pilates.

According to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), this news reinforces the use of conservative care options such as chiropractic care in San Diego as a first line of defense against pain. The survey, released by a leading consumer product rating and survey publisher in late July, found that 65 percent of those surveyed using chiropractic care for back pain said it helped a lot. Only 53 percent of respondents using prescription medications found them as helpful. “Additionally, about half of those surveyed who are using yoga or Pilates said those treatments helped a lot and only 28 percent of respondents using over-the-counter medications reported that they helped a lot.

“Current evidence-based guidelines support the use of conservative care such as chiropractic for conditions such as chronic lower back pain.” One serious eye-opener was that only 28% of respondents said over-the-counter medications helped a lot. It has been known for quite some time that common over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAID) have serious side effects. One of these side effects is that an estimated 16,500 people die every year. Natural, conservative options like Chiropractic, deep tissue massage, yoga, and Pilates are most likely better and safer choices when it comes to relieving back pain.

Neck pain is also very common and it can make your life miserable. If you suffer from headaches there is a very good chance you suffer from a common type of headache called “cervicogenic headache.” This type of headache is caused by a problem in your neck. One way to tell you might suffer from cervicogenic headaches is to identify if any neck motions cause the headaches or increase their severity.

Also, take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Does your head tilt to one side? Is your head posture bad? In other words, does your head stick out in front of you instead of sitting back over your torso? You’ll probably need a trained eye (like your Chiropractor’s) to see that one. Chiropractors like the chiropractors at New Century Spine Centers in San Diego are trained to spot problems in the spine.

According to an “evidence report” published by Duke University researchers, “Cervical spinal manipulation was associated with improvement in headaches in two trials involving patients with neck pain and/or neck dysfunction and headache. Manipulation appeared to result in immediate improvement in headache severity when used to treat episodes of cervicogenic (from the neck) headaches when compared with an attention-placebo control. Furthermore, when compared to soft-tissue therapies, a course of manipulation treatments resulted in sustained improvement in headache frequency and severity. However, among patients without a neck pain/dysfunction component to their headache syndrome – that is, patients with episodic or chronic tension-type headaches – the effectiveness of cervical spinal manipulation was less clear.”

Chiropractic For Getting Rid Of Back Pain

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

Chiropractic is the practice whereby hands-on adjustments of bones within the body and the spinal column are used to drive away pains from within the bones. This is a common practice utilized to get relief from back aches and stiffness by Dr. Michael Pritsker at New Century Spine Centers in San Diego. This practice operates on the theory known as the “subluxation theory” that the improper alignment of the human vertebrae affects the body’s nervous system and that pains and other disease can originate when this happens. So, its aim is to properly align the vertebrae for better health and relief from these pains.

To receive chiropractic treatment, the patient has to visit a chiropractor who uses manual adjustments or re-alignments to keep the vertebrae back in shape and restore the health condition of the patient. Some studies have shown that this process has been very effective in bringing relief to patients with back pains and some general ailments. These include certain back problems such as sciatica, leg pain, and back pain. For this lack of scientific evidence, some experts in the medical field have completely rejected the notion of chiropractic, though some chiropractors currently work with renowned doctors on part time and full time basis these days in the treatment of back pains and associated ailments.

Generally, if you are constantly plagued by back pain, the chiropractic might be a good option to try out as it has proven reliable in the treatment of back pains, assisted with the restoration of mobility and corrected neuron-musculoskeletal disorders in some patients. Let us go through the process of getting back pain relief through this medium, especially the lower back pain which most office executives and labor workers seem to be affected by today.

Manual re-alignment or adjustments of the vertebrae by the chiropractor are achieved by using the hands to apply pressure enough to cause the vertebrae to get back to its normal space. High velocity thrusts and spinal traction are common methods used in this regard. Also, professional massages and the stretching of back muscles are effected to relax the muscles and make the adjustments easier. Generally, the process might also some therapeutic exercises on specific group of muscles aimed at properly aligning the spinal cord.

The principle of using massages to relax the nerves and muscles is also part of the process employed by chiropractors to provide cures for back pain. The massage therapists at Happy head foot reflexology and massage in San Diego do a great job at helping reduce pain from muscle spasms. Most often, you find professional massage teams working alongside the chiropractors, because it is believed that relaxed muscles can be easily put back in place than the tensed ones. Also, regular exercises and relaxed nerves are a means of keeping the adjustment by the chiropractor in place over time.

Who Else Wants To Get Busted By An Undercover Holiday Elf?

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Here’s an interesting fact: If you were driving in December and saw an elf –and you didn’t slow down, you were in trouble. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (in Florida) hatched a new plan to stop speeders. And it’s unlike anything you have probably seen before.

Here’s how it worked: a sheriff’s officer standing on the side of the road DRESSED AS AN ELF and clocked cars using a radar gun and then radioed ahead to a motorcycle deputy to stop the speeders and give them a ticket.

Did it work? I’d say so. More than 150 tickets were written in just over two hours. But, some people thought the “elf disguise” just wasn’t right, and complained about using a holiday icon to trick speeders. In response to complaints, Ken Wyne of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said, “We didn’t choose a nativity scene. We chose an elf. An elf is known for their impish behavior. If you’re going to speed in Orange County, you never know who’s going to be on the street corner.” Who else wants to see the Easter Bunny arresting muggers? Now that’s something they should have on pay-per-view!

All kidding aside, many have the wrong attitude about this elf speeding sting operation. And here’s why. They think they are being tricked into getting a ticket. When the truth is: If you speed… and only slow down when you actually see a police officer… you are eventually going to get caught. It’s plain and simple odds. It’s the same when it comes to selecting the right doctors or chiropractor to work on your back condition.

Selecting the correct doctor for your spine problem is imperative. Selecting the wrong doctor all the time will only get you in trouble. At New Century Spine Centers in San Diego, the chiropractors are some of the best in the field and specialize in treating back conditions with advanced therapies like spinal decompression therapy.

Is Spinal Decompression Making Back Surgery For Herniated And Bulging Discs Obsolete?

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Since offering treatment for herniated and bulging discs with spinal decompression therapy in San Diego, we have heard over and over things like “I can’t believe I was actually thinking about surgery. But when I got the results of my MRI and I had multiple herniated discs, my other doctor said it was my only choice. If it wasn’t for the news special they had on ABC News with Carol LeBeau and your free reports (with all the proof!), I never would have known about spinal decompression and I’d probably still be suffering today. It feels great to be finally pain free and NOT have to go through surgery – but why didn’t my other doctor know about ABS and DRX9000 Spinal Decompression and send me to you first? When he said there were no other scientifically proven treatments and surgery was my only option, it made me much more skeptical about what you said about spinal decompression in San Diego. It was hard for me to believe that there was such an amazing breakthrough treatment out there and my doctor didn’t know anything about it. Why wasn’t I given ALL the information right from the beginning? That’s why I went to my doctor in the first place! I just wonder how many people go through unnecessary surgery and continue suffering simply from misinformation and fear?”

There may not be an answer to the question. But it is known that there are a lot of people suffering and having unnecessary surgeries. And the most important thing is if you are suffering with back pain, leg pain, leg numbness, tingling and/or pain, sciatica or if you have been diagnosed with a herniated and/or bulging disc there is a very good chance you can get help without drugs or surgery. And the fact of the matter is there is scientific proof that the Spinal Decompression System has achieved an 86% success rate with herniated and/or bulging discs.
Surgery cannot even come close to claiming those kinds of results. I have seen some studies claiming surgery gets a 50% success rate.

According to a U.S. Federal guideline on low back pain, “Surgery has been found to be helpful on only 1 in 100 causes of low back pain problems. Even having a lot of back pain does not, by itself, mean you need surgery.” That’s coming from a panel of experts commissioned by the United States Federal Government! What the panel of experts found and reported in that guideline was quite eye-opening to say the least. Here’s the reference if you’d like to take a look at it for yourself: Bigos s, et al. Acute Low Back Pain Problems In Adults, Clinical Practice Guidelines No 14. Rockville, MD: U.S. Public Health Service, U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, AHCPR pub. No 95-0642, Dec. 1994.

But here’s what I’m really shocked about: so many patients tell me they were “afraid” to try the ABS Spinal Decompression, they were “afraid” not to get surgery, they were told and believed they would be taking a risk trying the ABS before going under the knife. For the life of me, I can’t understand how cutting into your back and either cutting away the herniated or bulging part of your disc or surgically fusing a couple of your spinal segments can be thought of as an option before trying drx 9000 spinal decompression therapy in San Diego.

This is not to say surgery is never an option. In some cases it is. But, in many cases, it clearly should not be your first and only option. With spinal decompression, in many cases, your herniated disc is actually fixed – not cut out or fused. Spinal decompression achieves this through its cutting edge computer technology. This computer technology creates a logarithmic curve that senses your body an amazing 17 times per second. When the spinal decompression machine starts to distract your injured spinal segments, if your muscles begin to contract, the computer knows instantly and backs off slightly.

The computer picks up even the slightest amount of pressure from your muscles which is why treatments are painless and most patients say they don’t feel anything at all. Many even fall asleep during treatments while they are listening to their favorite music or watching a DVD movie. This distraction process continues until a negative pressure is achieved and the herniated disc is, in many cases, sucked back into place. Pre and post MRI studies have actually shown that herniated disc material has gone back into place and discs have increased in size and become much healthier. This negative pressure also allows valuable water and nutrients to flow into the disc so it can regain height and heal naturally.

As opposed to surgery that cuts out the herniated disc – leaving it damaged and predisposed to further injury. This is also much different from regular traction which has been shown to be ineffective at treating herniated and bulging discs. Dr. Michael Pritsker, a chiropractor at New Century Spine Centers in San Diego specializes in the treatment of disc injuries using advanced spinal decompression technology. Dr. Mike Pritsker has been practicing in San Diego since 2000 and has been specializing in spinal decompression therapy since 2002. He has successfully treated thousands of patients with back and neck pain.spinaldecompressiontherapy

How To Maximize Your Results From Working Out

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

According to a Study published in the Journal of Physiology on November 1, 2010, “A fat-rich energy dense diet is an important cause of insulin resistance.”

Insulin resistance is a condition in which the body produces insulin but does not use it properly. Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas and it helps the cells of the body absorb glucose. When people are insulin resistant, their muscle, fat, and liver cells do not respond properly to insulin. As a result, their bodies need more insulin to help glucose enter cells. The pancreas produces more and more insulin until it basically gets worn out and starts to fail. This can lead to diabetes.

How is this all linked to exercise? According to the study’s author, “This study, for the first time, shows that fasted training is more potent than fed training to facilitate adaptations in muscle and to improve whole-body glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity during hyper-caloric fatrich diets.”

In other words, the best time to work out seems to be on an empty stomach, which is usually first thing in the morning. Working out in the morning also has some additional benefits. Generally after working out in the morning, the day seems to be more productive. And of course it’s always great to start off the day knowing that you got a healthy workout out of the way.

New Century Spine Centers in San Diego has regular healthy classes monthly at their Mission Valley location. To register, contact them at 619-630-9153. Benefits Of Using Chiropractic For Back Pain

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

When back pain strikes, it can bring your everyday activities to a screeching halt. But for a person who doesn’t like the idea of using traditional pain medications to treat back ailments, a chiropractor is a viable option.

Chiropractors are trained to treat conditions that are caused by misalignment of the spine, as well as other conditions that affect the central nervous system. Some of the most common conditions treated by a chiropractor include: fibromyalgia, poor postural alignment, strains and sprains, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, osteoarthritis and sciatica.

A chiropractor is required to do two to four years of undergraduate studies, and then spend a specified amount of time at a licensed chiropractic college. Before a chiropractor can treat patients legally, he must pass a national and state examination. To find out if your chiropractor is licensed to operate in your area, contact the local Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Chiropractors use a number of drug-free methods to treat back pain. These methods often include massage, hydrotherapy, decompression, and spinal realignment. Massage relieves pain in the back by releasing endorphins and easing muscle spasms. There are several types of massage used to treat back pain. Talk to your chiropractor to see which one is best for you. If you have blood clots, cancer, or are pregnant, talk to a doctor before getting a massage. Hydrotherapy is commonly used by chiropractors to relieve pain in the back. This type of therapy can include sitting in a pool of warm water, or using ice packs on the affected area. Spinal decompression therapy is used to treat conditions such as degenerative disc disease and herniated discs. Decompression therapy uses vacuum pressure to relieve pressure and restore fluids and nutrients to the discs. Ultrasound is commonly equated with pregnancy, but this machine can be used by chiropractors to treat back pain. This method uses ultrasound waves to warm the tissue, and reduce swelling in the back.

Spinal realignment requires a chiropractor to use a specialized technique to readjust the spine and improve alignment. Modern equipment makes it possible to adjust the spine painlessly and without any “back popping.” If natural treatment methods are not an enough to manage back pain and drugs are needed, a chiropractor can point you in the direction of a doctor who can help.

A quality chiropractor not only treats conditions of the spine, they offer education to help patients keep these problems from reoccurring in the future. Regular exercise, good posture, weight loss, and proper sleep habits are some of the recommendations chiropractors will make to patients to help keep back pain at bay. A chiropractor is trained to carry out his job duties effectively by offering a wide range of drug-free treatment options to manage conditions of the spine and central nervous system.

Quite the contrary, they’re made with a deep desire to help. And unfortunately that desire sometimes results in excessive enthusiasm which leads to promises that can’t be fulfilled.
Some people turn to spine surgery in the hopes of eliminating their back pain. But surgery can be risky and you run the risk of long term disability. Others opt for injections of Cortisone and Epidurals for short term relief but they soon discover that it just masks the problem by covering up the symptoms while the condition worsens.

New Study: Texting And Social Networking Linked To Health Risks?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Modern technology can be wonderful.   It has never been easier to stay in touch and communicate with friends and family.  With texting and social networking, anyone can communicate messages, pictures, internet links and videos within seconds.
But Is There A Down Side To All This Texting And Social Networking? According to a November 10, 2010 CNN article, “A new study by the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine links poor health behaviors – including smoking, drinking and sexual activity — to hyper texting and hyper networking [teenagers].”
The article defines “hyper texting” as sending more than 120 texts per school day, and “hyper networking” as spending more than 3 hours per school day on social networking sites (like Facebook). According to the article, the study found nearly 20% of Midwestern teens surveyed were “hyper texters.”
“Hyper texter” teens are:
• 2 times more likely to have tried alcohol.
• Nearly 3.5 times more likely to have had sex.
• 40 percent more likely to have tried cigarettes.
• 41 percent more likely to have used illicit drugs.
• 43 percent more likely to be binge drinkers.
• 55 percent more likely to have been in a physical fight.
• 90 percent more likely to report four or more sexual partners.
The article also stated 11.5% Midwestern teens are “hyper networkers.” They are:
• 60 percent more likely to report four or more sexual partners.
• 62 percent more likely to have tried cigarettes.
• 69 percent more likely to be binge drinkers.
• 69 percent more likely to have had sex.
• 79 percent more likely to have tried alcohol.
• 84 percent more likely to have used illicit drugs.
• 94 percent more likely to have been in a physical fight.
Here’s an important note from the author of the study:  ”We are not saying texting causes these behaviors…  We can recognize that these kinds of connections… may be facilitating or enabling these kinds of behaviors, but we certainly can’t think of (the online connections) as causing them.” So, if  your  teenager  is a hyper  texter or  hyper networker, taking away their phone or internet access may not reduce their risks in the above categories but they  are an indicator that you  should  pay  more attention to your child’s activities.
